It’s a month from D-day. I don’t have to wonder any longer. Maybe now there’ll be some peace.

Envelope of love
My mom wrote on an envelope. I got home from school and found it. This is what it said:
“Crystal,
Do me a favor. Please email Megan the “Ono Special” picture for the menu. This is her address. Thank u. How’s your back? Come to eat if you have a time. Sorry for being a grouch!
With love
mom.”

Rinzen - new favorite artist →
I was perusing through big art books with lots of pictures, and I found this artist, Rinzen, along with artists Hanna Werning and Peter Zimmermann. I have a mini crush on Rinzen’s work.
Graduated
More to write later.
For now, moved back home, my mom bought me beer for the first time in celebration, and though it was unfortunate she didn’t get to go, I still had a great day. Todai lunch buffet - niiiiiiiiice. David - niiiiiiiiiiicer.

The crazy week
I’ve just had a crazy week, staying up like 4-5 am, being everywhere, trying not to pass out while getting crap done. Got my loan rejected just because of timing problems, but that’s fine - just deal with it, find another lender. It’s not a problem more than just annoying. Classes are fine. Gotta get work done for stuff. Ascension is at All Cal tonight, EEK! Hope they rocked...

Why I cried a little today
Didn’t see this coming, and I’m glad I didn’t. A short letter my mom wrote in Korean, which is so much more beautiful than this translation: “To my daughter whom I love Crystal! You are always bright, always healthy, always smart, always warm… this is why your mom is thankful and happy. Just like you have been until now, and into the future… For you to be a...

On my birthday, 23rd
Diana got me cake and sang me happy birthday at 1am. I got a pretty dress too. I woke up late. I didn’t go to my one class. I watched The Royal Tenenbaums for the first time. Not done yet. On Chapter 8. I got my FIDM financial aid work done. Almost. I got my laundry done. Almost (have to fold.) My parents called me to wish me a happy birthday. I called in with Bernie to tell him...

Facebook-less people
I don’t know if it upsets or intrigues me when people don’t have a Facebook account. Because if I need to talk to them, it’s real simple, but when they don’t have one they’re non-conformist and/or they have a life outside of Facebook. A life outside of Facebook? In today’s world? Wow.
About a beautiful day
It would be such a waste of a beautiful day to be upset about the things that are troubling you. Understand that you have to suck it up and deal with your crap, but also go outside and enjoy the sunshine. I love San Diego Sundays. San Diego people know what I mean.
Life is
as difficult as you make it, as easy as you make it, as ordinary as you make it, as extraordinary as you make it, as sad as you make it, as happy as you make it, as passionless as you make it, as passionate as you make it, Life is as you make it, so make of it what you want, and not from the fear of creating your own reality. Life is the paradise in your mind, not of what you can buy with all the...

The end of February... thank God
I didn’t know how much more of a crappy month I could handle but it’s finally over. And I, for one, am so incredibly grateful. May the bad month contain itself in the past and the best arrive soon. Very soon.
What a difference time makes
Forget about your problems. Focus on what you have. Learn from the past. Plan better, smile bigger, forge forward. There are more important and more interesting moments in life than moments of mistakes, but do not discount the valuable lessons to be learned when you fall hard. Those lessons are priceless and only understood through experience.

FIDM
Going to design school after this - there is a lot riding on it. The cost is that I’ll have to travel into LA for 12 months while living at home (which, as I recently got into a car accident, I’m not excited about) not to mention the hefty price tag: ~$26,000! Another UC year, basically. But what will the benefits be? A step into a possible career, specialization, know-how,...
A bump in the road
I had a dream that I gave an old friend a real, raw piece of my mind. I was unyielding and brutually honest. I woke up feeling more alive and confused than I have in a while, but the whole day I walked around in a rut - completely useless and overwrought with internal mayhem and a sense that I could do no right today. The things that help me see straight are the little moments of joy I searched...
